Should I Plan a Special Wedding 'do?

My hairstylist is trying to talk me into wearing a new ’do for my wedding day. Should I go for it?

First and foremost, never allow yourself to be talked into a hairstyle you don’t want. If the ’do won’t do, put your foot down or, if necessary, choose someone else to tackle your tresses. But if your hairdresser is suggesting something and you’re curious, give it a run-through to see if it works for you.

If you are normally a wear-your-hair-down kind of gal, try some updos just to see—you never know. Or, have your stylist blow out your cute, curly locks to find out how your hair looks straight and sleek. Have some fun experimenting with new hairstyles that match your wedding dress and reception style.

Just do your playing around before your wedding day—especially if you’re going to try a new color. Once you’ve narrowed down your top choices, take some Polaroids and show them to people whose opinions you trust.

If you get responses such as ”Wow, that doesn’t even look like you,” drop that ’do like a hot curling iron. You need to feel comfortable and confident on your wedding day, and your hairstyle should look and feel like you.
