How Do I Handle Long Gloves?

I want to wear long gloves for my wedding. Do I take them off for the ring exchange? What about the receiving line, dinner and dancing?

It takes too much time to take long gloves off for the ring exchange, and you don’t want a slowdown before the main event! Instead, open a seam on the glove’s ring finger so you can slip the finger out at the right moment. (No one will notice the open seam.)

Gloves shouldn’t be worn for the receiving line (when you want to touch people’s hands) or dinner (when you don’t want food to touch your gloves), but you could wear them when you cut a rug with your new hubby.

Or, make it easy on yourself and look for long gloves with buttons at the wrist. When your bare hand is required, simply unbutton the wrist, remove the part that’s on your hand and tuck it into the rest of the glove. Voila!
