How Can I
Make My Manicure Last?
What tricks will help my wedding day
manicure last my entire honeymoon?
The honeymoon provides tons of opportunities to flash your
new ring. To keep your digits chip-free, Deborah Lippman,
manicurist to stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth
Paltrow, says that pre-polished nails must be completely clean
and oil-free, so polish will adhere smoothly. After swiping
nails with polish remover, apply a ridge-filler base coat,
making sure to finish by brushing it across the tip. Use two
coats of colored polish, again brushing it across the tip,
but allow the first to dry thoroughly, about five minutes,
before applying the second. Now comes the trick-finish with
a topcoat and reapply it every two to three days.
This process will protect your polish from the chips that
result from normal activities. Lippman says, "This is the
time for you to be completely taken care of, so let others
help you and don't use your nails as tools." Let your new
hubby open that bottle of sun block, and relax while he rubs
it on your back.
