diet drinks that claim to take off 10 pounds over a weekend.
Ive also heard about diet teas that can help shed pounds.
Is this stuff safe?
In a word, no. There are 3,500 calories in one pound of fat.
To lose one pound of fat weight, you need to burn 3,500 more
calories than you eat. We recommend losing 1 to 2 pounds
per week, because youre more likely to lose fat than
muscle or water.
The weight you lose through a diet drink or tea will come
back immediately. And the drink itself may cause dehydration,
loss of electrolytes, or even a stroke. Additives in diet
teas and drinks may exacerbate heart conditions, interfere
with prescription drugs and cause other long-term medical
problems. Its safer and more effective for you to hit
the gym and count calories a few months before your wedding
date.
