How Can My Far-Away Mom Help Out?

My mother lives in another town. What can she do to help me with the wedding?

If your mom’s got a computer with Internet access, you’re both in business. Have her plug in your wedding location on our site to find vendors in your area. And of course when it comes to the guest list, your mom’s probably anxious to lend a helping hand.

Once the invitations come in, ask her to assemble, address and mail them to the guests she invited. Also, if the RSVPs are being returned to her address, she can be in charge of relaying the final guest count and meal choices to the caterer. If she’s craftsy, put her in charge of the favors and out-of-town welcome baskets.

Knowing that Mom is handling these time-consuming projects can put your mind at ease. Finally, remember that if you spot a must-have for your wedding day, send Mom out in her area to do a little comparison shopping. After all, everyone knows Moms always find the best deals.
