Who Should Propose a Wedding Toast?

Who should propose toasts? The best man is a given, I know, but should we ask others as well, like my maid of honor? And can we give toasts, too?

Actually, anyone and everyone (including you and your groom) can propose a wedding toast, though at most weddings, the best man’s the only one who steps up to the plate. If you want your maid of honor or other VIPs to say a few words, ask them a month or so in advance. That gives them plenty of time to collect their thoughts—and, we hope enough time to think twice before telling that story about spring break of your freshman year. Cheers!
