Must We Mail Invites for the Brunch?

Do we have to send out printed invitations
for the rehearsal dinner and next-day brunch or can we save some
money and invite people via e-mail?

Before you decide what kind of invitation you want to send out,
ask yourselves this question: What will our invitations say about
our party? After all, it’s the invitations that set the tone for
a celebration. Invitations should reflect the importance of your
big day, and nothing says special like a formal invitation delivered
by the mailman himself.
If your pre- and postnuptial parties are on the informal side (such
as a casual backyard barbecue or an open-house brunch), you can
choose an informal design, but it’s still more special when
the invitation comes by snail mail.
Here are two options that will keep your stationery costs down:
Hit a local card shop or stationery store and check out the selection
of pre-packaged invites—you’ll likely find something
perfect for your informal event at a fraction of the cost of custom-printed
invites.Or, consider buying festive paper and printing the invitations
yourselves from your personal computer.
Of course, if your event is super low-key, there’s no reason
why you can’t create a fun Evite and send it out to your guests.
But don’t forget that some of your guests might not be fully
wired. You should still be prepared to send these low-tech folks
an invitation the old-fashioned way.
