Settle an argument for me. What’s cheaper: a sit-down dinner or a buffet?


Sorry—there’s no definitive answer to this one. Sit-down dinners sometimes cost more, because you need extra wait staff to make sure everyone gets the Chilean sea bass in a timely manner.

But buffets can require more massive quantities of food to keep the trays filled (no one wants to encounter an empty mashed potato urn when he gets to the front of the line). So check out the pricing options with your caterer to see which one will cost you less dough.
